Alyssa is 28 years old, has Down syndrome, and has been making Happy Cards since COVID — and let’s just say, she’s been busy! Alyssa personally writes and draws each card, and she’s handed out over 17,000 cards (and counting!) to spread smiles far and wide.

She shares her Happy Cards with grocery store workers, shoppers, police officers, firefighters (her heroes!), doctors, nurses, hospice patients, restaurant staff, and just about anyone she meets along the way. Alyssa proudly tells them she’s their biggest fan and thanks them for all they do to keep people safe and cared for.

Alyssa’s joy doesn’t stop at Happy Cards — she’s a girl on the go! She’s rocked the stage in pageants like Miss Amazing (and yep, she’s brought home crowns!), and she worked with Best Buddies to land her job at Bubba’s 33, which she absolutely loves.

When she’s not spreading smiles with her cards, you’ll find Alyssa playing baseball with the Plymouth Miracle League or knocking down pins in her bowling league. She’s also a total movie lover — popcorn with a frozen coke is her all-time favorite snack, and she’s never been known to turn down a pickle!

Music? Alyssa’s always ready. If there’s music playing, she’s dancing — with or without a dance floor! She’s a karaoke queen, her favorite artist is Michael Jackson, and her all-time favorite celebrity is Taraji P. Henson.

But here’s something you might not know: Alyssa is one tough girl. She had heart surgery at just 10 weeks old to close 3 holes in her heart — and she’s been unstoppable ever since.

Oh, and when it comes to movies? Alyssa’s got a bold side — she loves old-school horror classics like Jaws, Carrie, and Cujo!

Alyssa lives with her mom, who she proudly calls her best friend. She also has three older sisters who love to tease her by asking which one’s her favorite — but Alyssa’s way too smart to pick sides. And let’s not forget Hilton, her beloved black cat and trusty sidekick.
